A modded Palworld server is your Pal world enriched with mods and kept online around the clock, where solo modding only ever touches your own game. Since the 1.0 release on July 10, 2026, the whole modding scene is updating for the new version: to play modded together, the mods have to load on the server side, and at MineStrator the technical base is already set up, so you simply add your own.
On PC, Palworld modding relies on UE4SS, which only runs on the Windows build of the server. We run that Windows build for you, with UE4SS already installed in its 1.0-ready build and PalSchema in place, so there is no technical layer to wrestle with. Drop your .pak mods, your Lua/UE4SS scripts or your PalSchema data mods from the panel's file manager, restart, and they load.
The rest is the peace of mind of a real dedicated server: online 24/7, shielded by DDoS protection, with automatic backups, an RCON console and the same visual rules editor as the official plan. Depending on your mods, your players sometimes have nothing to install. For an unmodded Palworld server, check out our official Palworld plan.
The modding stack, ready for 1.0
The server's Windows build runs under Proton, with UE4SS preinstalled in its 1.0-ready build and PalSchema in place. You configure neither Wine nor the mod loader: the technical base of Palworld modding is ready on delivery, all that is left is to add your mods.
Your mods, added from the panel
Upload your .pak mods, your Lua/UE4SS scripts or your PalSchema data mods straight from the file manager, with no third-party software. A single restart loads them, and automatic backups protect your world through every test.
Tune the game without touching code
The same visual editor as the official plan adjusts difficulty, experience, capture and gathering rates, PvP and guild limits. PalSchema goes further server-side: rates, breeding and stats change without your players having to install a thing.
Power for a heavier server
A modded server under Proton needs more resources than a plain one, and the doubled 1.0 map does not help. Our MyBox plans pair a high-frequency CPU with dedicated RAM, never shared, plus DDoS protection, NVMe drives and SmartBackup. If anything goes wrong, our English-speaking support answers 7 days a week.

Everything goes through the panel's file manager: drop the mod in the right place for its type (.pak, UE4SS or PalSchema), then restart the server. The technical modding base is already installed, so there is nothing to set up first. Our step-by-step guide walks you through it.
UE4SS is the layer that loads most of Palworld's gameplay mods; its 1.0-ready build comes preinstalled on this plan. PalSchema is a JSON-based data mod system that tweaks rates, breeding, loot and stats server-side, also already in place. There is nothing to set up.
Not necessarily. The 1.0 release required an updated UE4SS build, which our servers install, and many mods need updates from their authors. Check each mod's page for 1.0 compatibility and remove leftover outdated mod files: old remnants can crash the game. SmartBackup keeps your world safe through every test.
It depends on the mod. Server-side mods, such as most PalSchema mods or admin commands, ask nothing of your players. Client-side mods require everyone to install the same mod, in the same version: there is no automatic download when joining.
Server-side mods stay compatible with PC, Xbox and PlayStation crossplay. As soon as a client-side mod is required, though, the server becomes PC-only: that kind of mod breaks crossplay. For a crossplay server without mods, our official Palworld plan is the better fit.
Start at 8 GB, but a modded server is heavier: aim one size above the vanilla equivalent, around 12 to 16 GB once you have about ten players with mods and developed bases. Palworld already uses 6 to 7 GB at startup, before any mod, and the expanded 1.0 map adds its own load.
Those marked as dedicated-server compatible, with "IsServer": true in their Info.json or a clear note in their description, and updated for 1.0. .pak and PalSchema mods generally work well, while purely client or visual mods only install on the player's side. Always check the mod's page before installing.
Use the recommended RAM by player count table above, keeping the modded margin in mind. Start at the size that fits you and increase it in two clicks as your community grows. You can also try it for free before you decide.
