The trial server is a real official dedicated Convoy: your friends join with 8 players by default, and up to 32 by enabling the extended limit in their game files. TruckersMP, by contrast, is a third-party service you cannot self-host.
If you continue on a plan, your server and settings are kept. Otherwise, the trial server is removed when the 12 hours end.
