StarRupture is played in co-op with up to 4 players, host included. This limit is set by the game and cannot be increased: beyond it, stability is not guaranteed. A dedicated server is still the best way for those 4 players to share the same Arcadia-7 world, online around the clock.
Plan for around 8 GB to start with 2 to 4 players. Usage climbs fast as you expand your production lines: budget 12 to 16 GB for an advanced factory. RAM provides stability, but it is mainly CPU clock speed that keeps the simulation smooth. You can upgrade your plan as your base grows.
Your server stays online 24/7 even with your computer off, so your friends keep playing on Arcadia-7 without waiting for you. Yes. Since StarRupture is in Early Access, the game receives regular updates, and your server updates automatically on every start. You always stay on the latest version, with nothing to do. Just let SmartBackup take a backup before major content updates.
StarRupture is recent and its mod support is still limited in Early Access. For now the game focuses on its official content: automation, exploration and surviving the Ruptures. If server mods become available, you'll be able to upload them through your panel's file manager.
