Today we're back to learn how to install Oxide plugins on your Rust server. Whether it's to manage your servers and players in an easier way or to add custom features, plugins can be a game changer!
First you'll need to download plugins from the Internet, for this example, we'll install a vanish plugin for admins as well as a stack size plugin. Then, go to the Parameters tab of your server and find the « Framework de modding » field (it will be in french for now, we're still upgrading our localisation tools). Three values are possible :
- vanilla : the server cannot handle plugins and will ignore them,
- oxide : to load Oxide plugins, that's what we want here,
- carbon : another framework, it's more recent than Oxide but you'll find less plugins
Write "oxide" in the field, validate at the bottom and restart your server.
Once the server is online, new directories will appear, you can go to the WebSFTP tab (or use a SFTP software) and browse the « oxide/plugins » directory to add your plugins.
Restart the server again and your done! Configuration files are generated in the « oxide/config » directory if plugins support custom configurations. Don't forget to restart your server after you're done modifying a plugin's configuration unless it offers a command to reload the configuration from the file.
